George Washington, the "father" of our country, hes on the one dollar bill, and on the quarter.
We watched a movie about him in history class today. It turns out he pretty much only cared about what people thought about him. He lied to himself , he read books on how a "proper" person should act. He tried to be perfect. He made himself into something he wasn't.
Then he became a general, and loved war. Yes i did just say he LOVED war. He ordered the first shots to be fired in the French Indian War. Then after he married a woman for money, sending a letter to a girl he used to know saying he still loved her.
So he built this big house, had horses, woman, all the money in the world. He has made himself a king in his own mind. And in others, a friend of his said he could be king if he wanted to be. So this he has made himself into the perfect man.
After the war he left his army, knowing he would be thought greatly of for giving so much power up.
So of course we elect him president ( it was his idea to have a president) because he has shown us that he does not want power. Even though he is obsessed with being famous?
AND THEN he steps down after 2 terms, so again he will be respected.
So his life was a lie, and he built our country. So he built our country with his lies. Does that mean our country is a lie? That explains why the government doesn't tell us anything, sends thousands of people to die overseas ( Washington loved war remember) and spends tons of our money on making our president look perfect. He set an example for this country, and we followed it.
We ladies and gentlemen, are living in a 200 year old lie.

I see your logic.
ReplyDeleteI haven't thoroughly studied Washington, but from what I have studied and what you have pronounced, my opinion on his character remains the same.
Washington may have read books on how to act the proper way but it doesn't necassarily mean that he tried to be something he was not; just enhance his overall person. I mean, isn't that what most people do when they are being taught in school? The "How To For Dummies" can essentially mean the same thing.
Washington could have been considered a king, but he and others knew that could have easily lead back to a monarchy. So why would he want to have to put the people under those circumstances immediately after they had just been relieved from it?
If the electoral college believed he did not want power, they would have little reason to vote for him. They thought he would be the best choice due to his natural leadership and his honesty. He hardly even wanted to be president in the first place -- he was convinced into it.
The man didn't exactly build the country, he just set traditions. So there would be few ways the United States could be built off lies.
On a seperate path, the country has plenty reason to tell us little of what they are doing and what they know.
In 1938, the book "War of the Worlds" by Orson Welles was broadcasted live on radio. People who had tuned in too late to realize it was merely a book being relayed through the radiostation, began to panic -- even riot -- through the streets because they thought that, in fact, the Earth was being attacked by aliens.
There is a controversy on the occurence that the government tested out on America (and possibly even a portion of the Earth) to see how they would react to the broadcast. We didn't pass. Instead we ran through the streets, screaming in terror.
The reason we send troops overseas is in no way because someone loved war. It is precisely because we need to. If we decided to just not ever take action, and just sit back and keep to ourselves, we would have very little power and we would pretty much be an easy target to other countries -- just asking to be invaded. With war, we are not only protecting ourselves, but protecting other countries from tyranny and anarchy. So the soldiers are not wasting their lives. They are risking their lives to protect the people of the U.S. Even if most of America spits in their direction when they return home in a body bag.
